This refreshing Strawberry Banana Smoothie is a great breakfast or snack for a sunny day! With healthy fruits and some good protein & probiotics from Greek yoghurt, it’ll boost your energy!
Having had so much sun over the last few days, we decided to make the most of it yesterday and have a barbecue. We bought beef burgers, pork chipolatas and salad. Then we chopped peppers, onions and mushrooms and stacked them onto skewers to make kebabs.
The barbecue was crackling away, glowing embers leaping amongst the hot charcoals. We placed the food on foil trays on the barbecue, and they began to cook.
It had been going so well. That is until a flame engulfed half the sausages, turning them into lumps of black coal. The second batch turned out a lot better, so we sat down to enjoy the food. I’d made a Caesar salad, adding tomatoes and some parmesan to garnish.
For the first five minutes, everything was tranquil. The sun was slowly dimming its cast of light across the garden. The ferocious sizzling of the barbecue had faded away to leave a gentle crackling…
A sudden flash of bright white light was swiftly followed by a deep rumble that rippled across the sky. We looked up and saw a huge dark grey cloud looming above us!
We ended up packing up the garden chairs and going inside, although I didn’t mind sitting out in the thunderstorm for a while. My food probably would have got a bit soggy in the rain!
Yet now the sky is clear blue, the sun’s blazing, and the ground is dry. You wouldn’t know there’d been a thunderstorm last night!
It’s so lovely this morning that I decided to make a summery strawberry banana smoothie for breakfast.
I threw some strawberries, banana, grapes, Greek yoghurt and milk in the blender. Whizzed it up, and that was it!
Nice and refreshing after the disaster that was our barbecue yesterday. I don’t even like the taste of barbecued vegetables…
