It takes just 6 minutes to make this Healthy Macaroni Cheese in a Mug. Made without flour or butter, this low-calorie quick meal can be gluten-free, egg-free, wholewheat, and certainly healthy!
Imagine it now…
You get home and shut the door behind you. Then you take your shoes off, your coat (if the weather is anything like it has been here in England lately!), and walk to the kitchen. Despite feeling hungry, you’re not sure what to eat that’ll be quick and easy after your busy day. Whether it’s a snack or your dinner, you just want something simple.
So, you throw open a cupboard, grab a large mug, followed by a spoon from the cutlery drawer. You chuck some pasta and water in the mug, then bung it in the microwave while you turn the TV on. (If you’re British, this might be a good time to set the kettle boiling for an afternoon cuppa.)
Once the beeper goes, you give it a quick stir and pop it back in for another minute. During this time, you grate a handful of cheddar.
Going back to the kitchen, the mug goes in the microwave for a final minute while you grab some cream cheese, herbs & spices.
Steam emerges from the microwave as you remove the mug. You stir in a dollop of cream cheese, some mayo, then the grated cheddar. With a sprinkle of coriander, turmeric and a pinch of paprika, you stir it all together.
Hopping onto the sofa, you grab a soft fluffy blanket and drape it over your legs. Your hand grips the handle of the warm mug, and the other hand scoops from inside the mug, a spoonful of cheesy pasta.
